The whole darkroom

Every image tool, one bench

Convert, resize, compress, crop, rotate, and make PDFs — every one runs on your own device, with nothing uploaded.

This is the flagship tool — drop an iPhone .heic photo and it becomes an ordinary .jpg that opens anywhere, using a WebAssembly build of libheif running inside this browser tab. Your photo never leaves your computer. Below it is the rest of the toolbox: convert between PNG, JPG, WEBP and AVIF, resize and compress, crop and rotate, and turn pictures into a PDF — every one of them on your own device.

Use the quality slider to trade file size against detail, and drop several files at once to download them together as a .zip. If a HEIC is a Live Photo or burst, every frame is pulled out. The same applies across the toolbox: each tool is free, has no signup or watermark, and never uploads your image.

Most desktop browsers still cannot show a .heic at all, which is why one lands as an unviewable file when it is AirDropped or emailed to you — converting it to .jpg is the simplest fix, and doing it here means the image is never sent to a stranger's server the way it is with the big online converters.

Frequently asked questions

Are these image tools really free, with nothing uploaded?
Yes. Every tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files are processed locally and never uploaded. No signup, no watermark, no size paywall — confirm it by watching your browser’s Network tab stay empty while a file is processed.
Which image formats can I convert here?
HEIC/HEIF from an iPhone, plus PNG, JPG, WEBP, AVIF, BMP, and TIFF — converted between formats and to PDF, with SVG rasterized to PNG. See the toolbox below.
Will I lose quality converting an image here?
It depends on the output. JPG, WEBP, and PDF are lossy (though hard to tell at high quality); PNG is lossless and keeps exact pixels and transparency.
Why can't my computer open a .heic file in the first place?
HEIC is Apple’s default since iOS 11, and Windows, Android, and most desktop browsers ship no HEIC decoder — so the file shows as blank. Converting it makes it readable everywhere. More in what is a HEIC file.
